For me it looks like it is too early. I wait until the offset grows its own roots before removing them. Though I prefer a clustered look anyway.

I would not throw it away.. and still try to propagate it.

I remove the little ones this early as well because they take so much energy from the mother plant it loses its glow! And I don’t have the space for clusters, sadly.

It’s so cute. The middle looks really good. I’m terrible with eches when it comes to propagating and timing my chops. The result is typically lots of surviving rosettes heads or healthy stems or leaves and I let callous and will put in a shallow planter with soil and a strong grow light. I usually have some luck with something. I say put it in soil and leave it be. Might surprise you. I have one similar I can’t seem part with. It’s in my planter for better or worse. 🙂

I would wait until they grow bigger than this to remove. It’s easier to take care of a larger plant versus one that is that small. They do survive but it is also easier to kill it. This is just my experience.

It could still be fine. Put it in a warm spot and ignore it for a couple of weeks.
