Does the pot have drainage? You want to water it deeply until water comes out the bottom. Then make sure it’s not sitting in water for more than a few days. Then don’t water it again until the top layer of soil is nice and dry again.
It’s also worth noting that this isn’t a shade loving plant. You should REALLY consider moving it so it’s right smack in the middle of your very brightest window.

If your soil and pot is right, it will only grow leaves that it can support via the amount of light it’s getting, so it’s telling you it’s not getting enough light to support more leaves. If you want a fiddle leaf Fig with full leaves, put it in front of a full length window or buy it a vertical floor grow light like the Barrina T10 Pro.
