Hi everyone!

I am a newbie in plant care and today I repotted my monstera for the first time. I have never done this before and would really like to ask for an advice and ask some questions.

I got this plant back in November and honestly was too afraid to do anything with it, but after acclimatizing she seemed to be feeling quite good in my company (except for that one half crusty leaf).

Lately her lower leaves began to get yellow, soil was getting extra dry very fast, and also including the fact that there were four monstera plants in one pot, I decided to brace myself and try to repot them.

During repotting I noticed that youngest and smallest plants were growing and stretching their leaves in the wrong direction. They were originally potted with their back looking front. I repotted them in the correct direction, but now it just doesn't look right with the leaves looking away from the light. Is there any chance they could rotate towards the light later?

Also could you please give me your thoughts and recommendations about the bigger monstera in the yellow pot? I tried to position it in a way, so both plants have their back supported. I have used a bit of soft rope to support and hold them in place (but have already ordered a velcro zip to replace it).

I really want all of them to survive, but now I'm afraid that I did some irreversible damage.

Thank you!

yes, they will eventually turn back towards the light.

I think you’re fine, monsteras are fairly hard to kill as long as you don’t over water them. The leaves will eventually turn towards the light.

Soil looks great but If it stays wet too long you may want to remove the nursery pot and ditch the decorative pot 😊
