  1. This guy is awesome and the best advice but I think soil got lost in translation here, use a good POTTING mix. Soil has clay particles that will fall to the bottom of the pot and make it clog up. Potting mix is pure compost basically and will remain a free draining media to keep the roots healthy. ❤

  2. Air pockets are good, roots need water, nutrients, and AIR. Compacted soil with no air flow suffocates roots. If you want healthy plants, you want healthy roots.
