What the title says. Something had been munching on my lemon balm (recently transplanted into a pot) and there were signs of disease so I started doing some pruning to get a better idea of what was going on. At one point I had difficulty separating some leaves and when I pulled them apart this is what I found. I’d think it was a spider web but it seems very strong (only I probably harmed it). Before I cut it off and toss it I want to be sure I won’t feel guilty about it. There are a ton of slugs here. This plant was in the ground until two weeks ago. Now it sits in a fabric pot on my deck (because you all told me it was going to spread and so I listened!)

I’m in Sonoma County CA.

Cut it and put it in the trash not green waste bin. Those are usually leaf eating caterpillars. Like pickle worms or cucumber worms. Those little white butterflies that we get in this area. I’m only a short distance from you.

Would help if you posted a couple of still shots, pleass. I can’t zoom in on the video.

Regardless…those kind of cocoons on our leaves are usually bad news. But a couple still shots would help.
