Ostracod jars 😃

I lowkey made an ostracod farm 😭 I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit to put this on, but I just thought it was kinda cool. I started off with a container of chlorinated water with pondweed that was dying off, and would top it up with rainwater sometimes. One day I saw a tiny little thing swimming around. Turns out it was an ostracod. I decided that I might as well keep it alive then, and I bought some water conditioner and treated the water. After that it exploded. Suddenly there was algae, and the pondweed was so happy, and now there are hundreds of ostracods. I feed them on powdered clacium and reptile suppliments which are added occasionally, and sometimes I'll drop a fly in for them. The container that's mostly out of view on the far left is the original one, and the two that are most visible are the new ones which I added pondweed to and a syringe of the original water alongside some new water. So yeah, now I have three ostracod containers. I think I'll keep establishing new ones until my windowsill is full, and then buy a fish tank for them
