Corking is a normal structural change to mature cacti, but… rhat is too sporadic to be corking. I agree with the fungal hypothesis .

You…want it to live? I purchased one of these without knowing the hell it would bring into my life. I’m not trying to kill mine, but I’m not helping it live. And the MF is thriving.
