I had this happen a few months back, the plant tried to push through but died.

Don’t toss it just yet; tomatoes are very resilient. Last year, my plants received several battering from severe winds… lots of broken branches. I tied some back up, even repaired with masking tape 😊 and all plants survived. Ever so gently, stake up what you can then give it a nice treat of fish emulsion.
