I was feeling quite hopeful about Henry’s (the spider plant) survival chances until my cat decided to test if spider plants truly are non-toxic to cats.

Pictures include Henry when he arrived, Henry after being eaten, and the two suspects.

They are hallucinogenic to cats, so your cats might need to go to rehab! 😜 Also Henry lived a good life and gave his all for the high bandits you have freeloading. Don’t worry Henry is in good company bc my cats also are on catnip and spider plants when they can.

Now time to play Arctic Monkey’s “Why’d you only ever call me when you’re high.” Personally love the chorus best!

“Now, it’s 3 in the mornin’
And I’m tryna’ change your mind
    Left you multiple missed calls
And to my message, you reply
“Why’d you only call me when you’re high?”
“Hi, why’d you only call me when you’re high?”

    Oh no, Henryyy :((

Don’t throw him out yet, he can still survive this 🥹

I’ve grown spiders back from just a root ball in dirt.

They r tripping and you looking at them is probably scaring them.

We have “sacrificial” spider plants from all our pups for outer little predator. Get some cat grass (from seed is easy!) and it’ll take some of the heat off.

  6. Spider plants and anything grass-like can **never ever** be near cats. It’s their instinct to eat such plants. Every single cat I had growing up was sent to earth to destroy my mother’s spider plant. It lived on the fridge.

Henry will survive this, just as my mother’s spider plant survived decades of attacks. If you put it up high somewhere the eventual plantlets can cascade and letting them build up is gorgeous. Great presents too.
