Was given this plant as a Christmas gift, they said it doesn’t have to be watered since it’s dipped in wax. What is it and how do I care for it? Thanks in advance

Yeah that’s it. I put mine in a windowsill. It doesn’t need anything, just watch the show.

Amaryllis and you don’t need to do anything while it flowers. If you want to keep it you can peel the wax off, recut the base and bury the bulb in a pot up to the stem. Don’t cut the leaves off and leave it be. It likely won’t flower again in the summer and will be just leaves. It will die back next fall and probably flower again the summer following.

If you live in USDA hardiness zone 9 or warmer, you can plant it outside.
