On December 12, Calusa Garden Club of Marco Island members met for their annual holiday luncheon at Players Club and Spa at Lely Resort, Naples. Chairpersons of the event, Margie Bramel and Liz Clancy, welcomed over 40 members and guests to the festive event. Instead of the club’s traditional blind gift exchange, the garden club members donated gifts for others. Members purchased adult gifts that were donated to a project sponsored by the Marco Island Police Department and Al’s Pals. Children in our area choose from among the donated gifts to give to their parents for Christmas. In addition to the enjoyable luncheon and gift donation, the event included a raffle of gorgeous decorative items and plants.
Players Club and Spa was decorated in red, white, and green for the season, and members dressed in festive colors. The festive event included member socializing and participating in a workshop where members learned to fold napkins in the shape of a Christmas tree and an elf’s boot.
