So i got this massive plant and its my first so i have no idea what my first steps would be. Id like to know exactly what it is for research purposes and maybe if you have any tips on how to properly care for it? Thanks!!

I don’t know much about this plant but looking at the size of it I think it might need to be repotted, that pot looks too small.
It seems to be in great shape, so I’d ask for advice from the person that gave it to you. She was clearly doing something right.
She’s a sensitive soul and prone to dropping leaves if offended. I’d let her acclimatize to the new environment, give her a week or two, then if she doesn’t decide to give brown leaves in protest, I’d repot to a slightly bigger pot. If she does give “the brownness”, then change location to one with a little more light. Water sparingly. And goodluck! I think she’s beautiful.
These plants dont need a lot of water, maybe once a week, maybe less if you humidify your house. Mine has done very well in my bathroom.
