Thank you so much @thelistbyhouseandgarden from @richardmiers for inviting us to host your Instagram feed for today. It’s been great fun! Our last photograph is of the dining terrace area of a client’s large garden in Surrey. The starting point was defining the space using the pleached hornbeam trees and swan English sandstone. Once that was established paths to and from focal points and vistas were created to lead one from area to area but at a cross roads the Belgium blue limestone was used as a full stop to slow one down visually. The four symmetrical herb beds were planted with Lavender, Rosemary and Thyme and add a billowing softness to the whole arrangement. Natural looking earthy coloured containers were especially sourced to tie in with the colour of the dining chairs so there is a unity to the space and a specially commissioned table made of 50-year-old teak by the talented @jeremypitts.co.uk. To the left you can catch a glimpse of the flower border that wraps around the entire outer area of this part of the garden. Once again thank you @thelistbyhouseandgarden for allowing us the honour of taking over your feed. We’ve had a great day and we hope you all have too and hopefully see you at the @houseandgardenuk Festival at Olympia at the end of June.
