My spider plant Bonnie has been in this same plastic skull I cut out the top of and poked holes in the bottom to turn into a Halloween planter, since August 2024. I had to break the back of the skull to get her out and to my surprise, her roots look like a ramen packet and in the shape of the skull 🤣. I included pictures of her cute little curly babies and last photo is from last September on the windowsill she lived on for over a year.

I know she looks bad but I moved out and abandoned her in my old bedroom at my dad’s house a couple months after I repotted her and just rescued her yesterday. She was in a west facing windowsill the whole time, in an inert mix of just coco coir and perlite, I wasn’t around to fertilize, and probably had way too many dry spells between watering (my stepmom was still watering them and took most of my plants and put them in her house but I think she left this one in my room cause she didn’t want the pot to be seen in her living room lol so it obviously got neglected more than others), I’m not sure— I think with some TLC she will bounce right back 🙂

I have a triple Dracaena trifasciata ‘Hahnii’ in a Bulbasaur pot. I’m not touching it until it breaks on its own. 😅

This is why it’s a good idea to NOT plant in irregularly shaped pots. Some pots have a lip and you can’t get the plant out without ripping a lot of soil/roots off around the edges to get clearance.

how do you get your spider plant to have curly leaves? mine are just like me and have straight hair! I long for the volume and the curls!
