First of all I'm really sorry this is out of focus, didn't realize until after I got home that the phone didn't focus correctly. I'm new to teaching high school science and I found a box of prepared slides in the science lab. This slide is labeled just "Apical Bud L.S." and then just Chinese characters. No species. Any guesses on what this could be?

It’s the apical bud, cut at the long section. It’s the growing tip of a plant, you can see the proliferation of tissue. Are you trying to ask what species this is or?
Probably not the same as this, but thought it might be

Apical bud, bud.
What are the Chinese characters, actually?
Disregard my previous comment as it’s probably wrong
Get a shot of the Chinese characters if you can, and bring it here and/or r/translator
I have a slide that looks similar from a set from Carolina. Not sure on the species but it’s worth a look.
Hard to tell, but if i had to guess, i would say maize due to the phyllotaxy, amount of leaf primordia around the meristem, how common the plant is and general look of a monocot
Cross section of the 1990s
Im betting its an onion root tip. A super common lab to run for mitosis is looking at an onion root tip thats been stained with methylene blue and then observing the different stages of mitosis that can be found in the cells there. We either use the prepared slides when we’re pressed on time or let the students DIY it if we have a day.
Looks like a celestial body
