It fell and broke in half 😭

Can I place it in water as it is or do I still have to cut off the bottom leaves? And are the roots now useless since there’s no leaves attached?

  1. All I can tell you is that I put one in water that was similar and it’s grown tiny fittonia babies under water. As I am new to propagating I am now trying to get them to grow above water but they don’t want to. So,I suppose the moral of this story is – possibly!

Yes, I have done props that small successfully when trying to multiply from a young plant.

It will be more likely to be successful if you can maintain high humidity by putting it in a plastic tent made from a gallon zip bag (or a glass cloche, if you like feelin’ fancy). Keep it warm and very well lit (but no direct sun while in a humid closed bag/under glass). Should root in a couple weeks.
