I got two new oak trees (Monterrey and Chinquapin) from Tree Folks – both 5 gallons and planted a week ago. My tree guy who planted for me said this looks like a fungus and recommended I wash the leaves with soap and water. That did not seem to make a difference. Is this powdery mildew or something else more appropriately addressed through a targeted treatment? The leaves on the Monterrey are starting to look quite damaged.
I also welcome any watering advice as I am seeing a lot of conflicting information.
