I am buying gifts for an Operation Santa family, and one of the gifts requested is for an indoor herb garden. I know nothing about plants and it seems like there's a lot of scammy stuff online. I was hoping for recommendations on the best things to buy to actually create a simple herb garden, especially if it's relatively kid-friendly. Are there any kits that are legit? Or should I just buy various supplies at Lowe's?
