I'm adding n=12 6.5 quart tubs to grow lettuce and greens. The plan is a hybrid Kratky setup, I'll monitor each run and top off as needed. I'm planning 6 tubs now, and 6 identical tubs in three weeks to have a succession. Spider Farmer SF2000 grow light and General Hydroponics nutrients with a target EC of 1.5 for each tub except tub #5 at 2.0.

Are those the new tiny Home Depot tubs? Was thinking about getting some myself but looks like you nailed a good use case for them.

I looked at the pic before scrolling to which subreddit it was and was like “what the…ohhhhh nice.”

I use the larger tubs with just a full spectrum shop light. Grow romain and iceberg great. Because the lights aren’t as strong as true grow lights it takes a little bit longer but also less electricity.

Works great with kratky. I use a table top unit to sprout the seeds. I can sprout 10-20 seeds in one pod. Then split the ones with longer roots into 1 inch pots with lecca balls and start the water level about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch up the pot and let it naturally fall over the grow.

You can pick the outside leaves to make salad and stretch the lettuce into a much longer harvest.
