Sneak Peak: My giant poinsettia is starting to bloom! I’ve had it for about 6 years and this will be the fourth year I’ve gotten it to bloom! Excuse the mess, it’s in a spare room where it’s easier to restrict the light it gets at night (needed for blooming).

i love you for sharing all these photos and the methods you use to maintain them so well! it’s great to see what they’re capable of when they’re not seen as a disposable christmas decoration
I planted two poinsettias in my garden after Christmas year. They more than doubled in size and are healthy. One of them is turning red now. What’s the catalyst that creates the red leaves. Maybe less sunlight? Maybe cold nights? I got my bougainvillea to bloom recently by adding phosphorus, so maybe something chemical like that?
I tried many times to keep grocery store poinsettas alive. They always die. I am not sure if it is pant quality, or me

I have an indoor tree style poinsettia as well but not worried about I reblooming. Any care advice? Should I be fertilizing?

They can grow into a small tree? Who knew? So what exactly do I do this year to turn mine into a tree? I’m going to try!

Nice! I had one for almost 3 years, got it to bloom the second year and then we moved and it got cold in the moving truck and died. Never seen such a nice big tree poinsettia like yours!
