Was preparing a garden bed and realized this was here. It’s at the top of a slope a couple feet away from a small retaining wall next to our driveway. We just had 811 here a few weeks ago and nothing was marked right here. I assumed at first it’s just where someone used to have a post in the ground but could it be important?

Old clothesline base or chain link fencepost.
It’s an old fence post with concrete. Dig it out. You’ll get to the bottom. You might need two people.
There’s actually a diy-friendly approach that makes it easier- using a farm jack and a chain to lift it out of the ground. I removed two of these last year that way. Search on the webs for “removing fence post with a farm jack” and you’ll get some how to videos.
Future manual labor.
Chunk of concrete with a cut off pipe
We had one of these in our yard, and later found an old photo that showed it was originally a flagpole holder.
volleyball post, clothesline post, fence post, antenna post ….am guessing someone cut the post/pipe but didnt remove the concrete
Some sort of post once seated into concrete, cut off.
A cut off chain link post?

SAWED OFF PIPE IN CEMENT PAD!
Metal fence post. Someone didn’t want to dig it out so they cut it off at the bottom and burried it. Now it’s a gift for you.
