I've been propagating this anthurium leaf in sphagnum moss for 1 week. It has a heat mat underneath (a 15W Komodo heat mat).

The leaf has started curling today. The sphagnum moss looked dry so I added a teaspoon of water down the side. That's the second time I've added water. It's difficult with the height to check with touch so I've been going by sight. I'm not sure if the humidity is high enough but I've ordered a hygrometer. I also have a grow light I can add.

My questions are:

  1. Is the leaf curling a bad sign?

  2. How does the overall setup look?

  3. How often should I be watering / testing?

  4. Any other advice based on what you're seeing?

I really want it to make it! Thanks for you help

If this is where it sits, increased light exposure would be helpful energywise. Is the leaf touching the plastic? If so, you must resolve this. Also, you have to somehow touch the moss to check moisture. Getting that right is imperative. It’s more important than maintaining the integrity of the setup. 💚
