these look like the leaves of a bulb, most likely Lycoris radiata or a close relative. They should stay green all winter and spring and die down as hot weather comes in. Stalks of spidery orange flowers then appear suddenly in the fall. They call them “surprise lilies” in Georgia since the flowers seem to appear out of nowhere. So long as you don’t mow or cut the leaves off while they are growing in the winter, they will last forever and spread around.
