I recently started growing my AV collection. There are a number of identified ones and a few NOIDs. I recently transitioned them into a cabinet with growlights that go for about 12 hours. I am worried that the crowns are too tight but I don't know why. There are some brown spots and curling leaves. I checked for pests but I don't see any. They are in self-watering pots that I only fill when they are empty. Does anyone have thoughts or know how to help? Should I prune some leaves? Do I need to reduce the light? Thanks for your help!!

I’ve found that 12 hours is too much for mine. I only do 12 hours for propagation. My AV adults get 6-8 hours on a 75% setting. Their crowns have relaxed significantly since I stopped doing 12 hours. 😊

Ya bright (grow) lights can make plants dense. Plants should not be so close that they get at all warm… that could deform new growth. The quality (spectrum stuff) of the light affects density and how they grow also. 12hr doesn’t seem too long to me unless it’s very bright.
