Recently found these bugs on my monstera, I think they are actually rove beetles not thrips but the two seem to be confused a lot and I’m trying to get confirmation. I’m losing my mind I’ve posted on every subreddit I can think of and I’m not really getting any responses. My plants are one of the most important things in my life and I already have terrible anxiety and poor mental health so this is really affecting me. I water once a week, this monstera is a good distance away from a south facing window and I’ve had it for several years but recently repotted it.

  1. I wanna say they don’t look quite pointy enough for thrips, but I am no expert. Found any larvae or anything on the leaves?

Im honestly not sure but the first one seems like a great photo, im sure someone will be able to ID. Can i see a closeup of the leaves? Are there silvery looking spots? If there are thrips there should be leave damage that looks silvery, and their larvae are white worms. If it helps, your baby still looks healthy, so IF it is thrips its a very minor issue right now.

I have had these suddenly pop up too on one indoor plant. They seem harmless. I put nematodes in the pot and it’s helped.

I think they’re too big to be thrips but I’m not sure what they are. Thrips are very narrow. I didn’t see any on your leaf photo

Kinda looks like springtails and fungus gnats. Their buts don’t look pointy enough for rove beetles, it is hard to tell. But I can say for sure that they are not thrips!
