how do you sell large pot online? I am running out of space. I live in the sticks. I have one of my other plants on Facebook marketplace but it’s not doing anything up there.

I fell into a trap of grabbing everything because I didn’t know what I liked, thinking half of the things were going to die, because “I suck at succulents”. And then like, literally none of them, even the ones i left out of the frigging soil forever because they fell somewhere, and didn’t have space to put them somewhere sturdy , and I have 4 kids running around knocking stuff over (again) and messing with stuff, and then finally found a moment to breathe and care enough put back in soil somewhere eventually out of guilt—-those didn’t even die!.

The greenovia I don’t even understand any more enough to care about, but somehow, with literally no roots, it ended up opening up.

I don’t even care that much about the jade no more. 😣

The gray ghost was a freebie tossed in with another plant. It keeps dropping leaves and responding.

All I want is my string of pearls and my donkey tails. I am trying to move towards a theme with my plants: spheres and circles. (And maybe a contrasting shaped accent plant. And the occasional head planter, which is what the donkey tails are for.) If I made space here and got rid of some succulents, I could add a string of watermelons.

I have no idea how to get rid of stuff.

Why don’t you sell some of your spare children to make more room for plants?

  2. Try posting on Facebook marketplace or a similar online platform.

Be careful, if buying or selling anything anywhere, you are bound to encounter a scammer or two — insist on meeting the buyer in person, in a public place (it can be near your house; the important part is having other people around and not letting strangers know your address) and only accepting cash.

Look at how other, similar plants in your area are priced to decide how to price your own.

I’m sure someone will want these beautiful, healthy plants! Good luck!

  3. You are in luck. I happen to run an orphanage for unwanted succulents. DM me your info and I will relieve you of your burdens.

Give them away! I’ve turned into the neighborhood plant momma, and am giving out plants to neighbors, local shop owners, and any friend who wants them. Puts a smile on people’s faces 😊

How do I get the gray ghosts out of my string of pearls? 😮‍💨

All the roots for both Are all the way down in the reservoir. I guess I’ll have to repot. I’m scared of that too. My string of pearls empties the reservoir very fast these days and could probably use a repot.

But looking at my succulent table overwhelms my brain about the prospect of tackling th whole thing

  6. I would take all these ghost plants of your haaaands. Do you live in Germany by any chance???(:

I just… thin the herd with a ritual “Sorry, bub, you are not sparking joy” — plant goes to the compost, soil and pot are recycled. (I grow a lot of stuff in chunky succulent mix that is “mostly rocks” of various types, it’s expensive, and I’m not throwing it in my compost.) Also, I like ONE plant, a tidy rosette, in a pot. I do not want a clump of aloe vera or haworthia. So, I… uproot/prune and dispose of the offsets. I feel a little guilt about this, but not enough to fill my house with repotted aloe vera offsets or fifty copies of that one haworthia that will not quit offsetting but also is very shapely and elegant when it’s not spawning..

When I started running out of room at home, I took a bunch to my office to live there. 🙂
