We’ve had several jades, but this one was a new addition to the house. Someone was moving towns, and had to abandon some beautiful plants. During the tradeover process, they were outside in 45 degree temps and 15 mph wind gusts, for about 4 hours. We figured the little bit of weather stress must have triggered her flowering process!
Wow! I didn’t either! So pretty. Im going to go talk to mine about flowering now.

Beautiful!

I JUST got this lady and I’m obsessed! I hope she flowers as much as yours one day!
Also since you have several, would you be able to give advice? This one leans heavily to one side to the point that it topples over. Is there a good way to balance it out aside from things like rocks in the pot? I was hoping to help it grow a little more evenly.
I didn’t even know jade flowered! Welll, showing this to my sunset and hope she gets sum inspiration

Copying over AI explanation for when they flower:
Jade plants will flower under very specific conditions that mimic a mild, dry “winter.” Here’s what they need:
1. Cool nights (most important)
They typically need night temperatures around 50–55°F (10–13°C) for several weeks.
If nights stay warm, they almost never bloom.
2. Shorter day length / long dark periods
They respond to long, uninterrupted darkness — similar to a natural winter photoperiod.
Indoor lights left on at night can prevent blooming.
3. Mild stress + lean conditions
They bloom more readily when:
• They’re slightly root-bound
• You hold back on watering in fall/winter
• Soil is well-drained and dries fully between waterings
Heavy watering or rich fertilizer suppresses blooming.
4. Bright light during the day
They need full sun (direct light) to build energy for flower buds.
5. A mature plant
Jade plants typically won’t bloom until they are:
• at least 3–5 years old
• Often older and thick-trunked
Summary: How to trigger blooms
From late fall to winter:
• Give them cool nights (50–55°F)
• Provide bright daytime sun
• Ensure dry soil between waterings
• Avoid fertilizer
• Keep them in long, dark nights — no evening lights

Thanks for sharing the pictures! I had no idea. I thought they just propagated by dropping leaves. Beautiful flowers! Does this result in a seed?
