I’ve been propagating this bud that fell off the main tree for about a month now. Not seeing much movement and now the leaves are browning? Any tips on keeping this thing alive? Should I have cut the bud back more?

It seems like a leaf and its petiole, no node. Unfortunately you need a node to propagate that plant.
