    These are wisteria seeds. Cold weather causes the pods on the vines high up in the tree to pop open, throwing their seeds.

    Could it be Wisteria? Maybe fierce movement made the pods snap open.

    Is it Kentucky Coffee Tree seeds? The shells almost feel like rock.
