Kindly gifted some cuttings of Spider Plant and Chinese Evergreen. I have no experience with these plant varieties. Recommendations on what to do next? I have only successfully water propagated a monstera deliciosa and chinese money plant which are now thriving in chunky soil mix. Any advice is much appreciated!

Sit/hang those baby spiders in water and they will take off with roots. You want the water touching the nubbies but not the leaves. I have skinny water vessels that I put mine in, letting the leaves hold them up. Once a good bit of roots form you can pot them in that chunky soil. You can probably prop them straight in the soil but I like to water prop so I can watch the roots. Hope this all makes sense.
I rescued a baby spider from home depot floor 4 months or so ago. Just put it in a jarfull of fresh water. In about two weeks, it had couple of strands of roots. Although, I changed water every 2 – 3 days. Once the roots werecabout an inch long, Ivtransferred it into a potfull of potting mix. That guy looks as happy as ever. I keep it in a south-eastern window, where it gets about 4-6 hours of indirect sun. I water it only when top half to three quarter inch of soil feels dry. That pretty much goes for all indoor plants I have. Spiders like to be a little bit root bound. So don’t put it in too big of a pot. Don’t over water it.
