Very sadly someone fell into the plant (2m wide) and snapped off around 70cm of the foliage at its ‘big back’.
Is there anything we can do to save this section of the plant?
It’s still connected by an aerial root into the soil and has been amputated for about 24 hours (we only just noticed!)
I’m desperate to save it as it has glorious huge leaves

Just propagate it, either throw it in water or pull the aerial root from the old pot and throw it in super chunky dirt. Water lightly
Rock on
I had a house party Saturday and someone knocked my FLF over, I almost passed out and wanted tell everyone to leave 😆

He survived
Before throwing it in soil or water. Make sure the end has calloused. You can even throw the aerial roots in some distilled water and prop up the stalk until you figure out what you want to do with it. I’m doing something similar. But prepping for chop and prop

Party foul. House rules. Not cool. But we are emotionally mature. We forgive.
Put it in some water

Note to self: put plants away during parties.
Good news!!
You now have TWO beautiful monstera plants.
!!!! I’d be devastated, I’m so sorry. But you’ve got some good advise here already, hopefully it’ll re-root!
Ya throw it in water where theres nodes- google mature monstera node for a visual. Or the aerial roots which are the long thick brown roots. Once it has re-rooted you can dig a hole in the pot and add it in or start a whole new plant!
Propagate! Propagate! Propagate!
Sounds like a fun party! I always look for the positive in every negative situation. The positive to this is, you now have 2 Monstera! Congratulations!🤭💚
Just send it to me. I’ll take care of it. The piece that broke.🤭💕
Time to make babies
Now you have 2 monsteras!
Put it in a pot or in a bucket of water.
I would’ve been devastated 💔 but thankfully they’re pretty durable plants and can be potted and grown into another beautiful monstera 🥰
Wild party 😱 Try to repot it back into the soil!
I’d been so upset
Did you amputate them back
