… Glad brand, 4oz container
I was given a bag of these 4oz Glad containers that appear to be unused. My plan, unless someone has a reason not to, is to use them for my next leaf props. Two holes in the top with one for the leaf and one to be able to add water if necessary. The leaf hole situated close enough to the side so as to be able to flex the lid enough to allow me to remove the leaf and roots without damage when it comes time to pot.
Any thoughts or horror stories about this you want to pass along?

My only thought is will the roots be damaged when removing the leaf to plant it?
Not my idea of a great prop top. The roots can be difficult to get out without breaking and sometimes baby plants will form and they will definitely break off easily. I would use press and seal or foil on top or float a piece of foam in the cup.
These can be used for small pots as water reservoir if wick watering. Two holes in top allows for wick in one and refill.port in the other.
I don’t use these for propagation, however, I do cut a hole in the lid and drop a self watering wick to use these as self-watering reservoirs for minis to sit on top. Works great for that.
There’s no need to use the lid
I would just poke a few holes in the bottom and put them in a tray and water the tray and bottom water that way
Or just use the container and not the lid and top water carefully
I’d burn some holes at the bottom and plant up to 3 leaves in here (depending on size of course, you could do one for a big standard and 3 for a semimin) and then bag it in a ziplock container. Or scratch that and use it as a wick watering well for minis/semi mins by burning a hole at the top and using it that way!
