I'd recently posted asking for advice on spotting that occurred after just a few weeks of having purchased this agave from New England Bonsai. I had been watering it one a week, but started getting suspicious thinking about some of the overgrown, dry roots sticking out of the soil.
Well, it turns out it had no live roots! I'm surprised it wasn't repotted sooner. Fingers crossed that it manages to grow some new ones after being treated.
I insisted I keep the root basket and figured I'd share it here in an update.

Don’t throw that “root bowl” away, that would make a super cool rustic “pot” for the right plant 😁
This is super cool!
I’m so confused at what I’m looking at. Did you cut the plant away from its roots?
