A few months ago I posted my flowering Orostachys which I first mistook as Echiverias. Now I know it was deathflowering and here is the process. Last photo is from today, I can see no new growth. Will it come back in spring?
Holy cow… that is incredible to watch, and so absolutely heartbreaking! I’m sorry for your loss.

I can’t quite see in the photo, but usually if there are any pups that didn’t bloom, they’ll be ok next year, even if their stems look dry (as long as the pup still looks alive).

It’s not looking good with no new pups spawned, but I checked and it’s self fertile, so you may be able to grow it back from seed.
I hate it when monocarpics bloom themselves to death without pups. My Aichryson bethencourtianum did it and the one before did it, too. Sigh.

Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing photos if the process. Now I know what to look for.

Ime removing young offshoots soon enough and rooting them separately prevents this.
If they remain connected they can act as a single plant, with each branch flowering and the whole thing dying after.

Terminal blooms are always such beautiful sadness.

This species should have shoots of babies. I cant offer more than that bc mine have always died
