Never been a plant person but a month ago someone told me to get into plants (“at least succulents”) to tame some more my depression. Anyways, kinda taking it serious and trying to learn as much as I can and asking way too much here too. Lol! Didn’t expect I was going to enjoy this so much. I know there’s so many beautiful green gals out there but man there’s just something about these tiny pals! They’re just sooo cute. Also, I like them chubby ones, can you tell? 🤣🌷 Here’s to survival and making it into the next month!

Will me making a wooden shelf to half on my backyard wall this weekend 🙂 it will be kinda shaded so sun doesn’t hit them directly. I’m in the Caribbean so we’re as close as the sun as Mercury over here.

When I became an empty nester, I started concentrating a bit more on succulents…like you, it’s become a bit more than I expected.

I built a couple of shelves for my plants around my yard/house. Definitely want to keep them out of direct sunlight for hours on end…all buy one of my shelves get direct sunlight, but only in the morning and late afternoon. You also should watch for how much rain they get. Some succulents don’t like a lot of wetness even if they’re in a good draining pot/soil.

    Good luck.

Oooh you picked a great option for someone with depression. These guys get along great even if neglected for a long time – they’re resilient.

Plus every now and then you get a little pup or a crazy flower stalk as a surprise, and that’s fun.

And even if you fuck things up completely (or even just want a fresh start), you can chop up your plants, propagate them, and start fresh!
