    If that had been outside, I would say that was a seed pod from a crape myrtle that fell among your lithops.

    And yes the seed capsules look ready to go. Put them in a shallow glass of water and the capsule will open and spill all the seeds. Then pick out the seeds and dry them on a paper towel.
