December 2025:

The Cornwall Garden Society (CGS) is delighted to announce its December lecture series featuring Alex Goodyear, Head Gardener at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens.

His talk, “Gardening on the Edge”, will explore pioneering and adventurous gardens in Cornwall and beyond that push the boundaries of plant hardiness, creativity, and cultivation by embracing rare and unusual species.

Alex brings a wealth of horticultural experience to the podium.

He studied horticulture as an apprentice at Duchy College (Rosewarne) before joining the prestigious scholarship programme at Tresco Abbey Garden on the Isles of Scilly, where his passion for sub-tropical plants truly took root.

Now at Tremenheere, he works daily among some of Britain’s most exotic and uncommon plant collections, giving him exceptional insight into gardening in challenging and imaginative environments.

This inspiring lecture promises to offer fresh ideas for all, whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply curious about what’s possible within Cornwall’s unique climate.
