After transplanting it from a 2" pot to a 4" (that it still barely fit in) it lost half its leaves, grew a bunch of weird roots, popped a rosette, and flowered. ARE YOU HAPPY OR NOT!?

I only water when completely dry, but it doesn't seem to matter how long I wait, it still loses leaves. It lives under a dedicated grow light and gets almost 10000FC of light for 12 hours a day.

Mine was finicky like this. It was doing awesome and then suddenly half the plant dropped off from rot. I was able to prop the leaves from the other side bc they were perfectly fine. It was just odd how it happened within matter of a few hrs.

Flowering takes quite a bit of energy so that’s probably why it ate its leaves. It also looks a bit thirsty. When you water, are you making sure to really soak the soil?

it looks fine to me. the dead leaves thing is just how echeverias are. rapid growth = rapid reabsorption. you just dont usually see echeverias with a bunch of dead leaves because people tend to clean them up before showing them off lol

Probably it’s the flowers. The main rosette will put most the energy in the flowers so old leaves will die off. Just cut the flowers off if you want

Personally, I’d say that your baby looks happy and cute 🙂 the leaves are pointed up, so it’s got enough light, and they look chunky, so it’s got enough water.
