What is causing this brown spot? New AV enthusiast!
My first pride and joy and I'm distressed because I can't work out why the leaves are getting this brown spot, what have I done wrong, any help would be most appreciated. I hope this is easily fixed. Thank you!
It is an old leaf and dying, which happens to AVs. It should be removed. Break if off near the stem of the plant.
Many of the flowers are past their prime too. They could be removed as well. Grooming AVs can be a chore, but worth it, if you have the time and inclination. Did you get water on the leaves? Some of them are more sensitive to it than others.
I don’t have an issue as long as the water isn’t cold and has an opportunity to dry off, but if it stays there, it will definitely cause brown marks.
Flowers will also naturally die off, I don’t know if those have been there for a while.
