In October I heavily scarified a strip of lawn with a rake and scattered a bunch of wildflower seeds that you can sow in the autumn, these included yellow rattle, corn marigold, cornflower, ox-eye daisy & poppy seeds that I harvested myself. I have more seeds fo scatter in spring too.
Anyway a few weeks have gone by and there are loads of these sprouts all over the place.
My question is, are these just weeds or are they the wildflower seeds? Are they supposed to do this now? I was under the impression that they lie dormant until the spring whilst undergoing cold stratification. Would the mild autumn we're having made they sprout too soon?
