This is a 5 year old hibiscus – I put it in my garage for the winter last weekend, and when I watered it a few days later I noticed that 3 out of the many not-yet-bloomed flower pods have these grain of rice-like little black seed things.

There’s also some webs with little tan flecks in it, but they’re not moving at all. So…not spider mites. The leaves also seem fine (I know they have some minor black spots, they have had those since I dealt with an aggressive swatch of June bugs eating it.
I did notice some small spiders around the webbing, but not spider mites just regular small spiders.

Wondering if some sort of bug laid eggs on these flower pods?
If they’re harmless I’m inclined to let nature do its thing, but if it’ll kill my plant then I do obviously want to treat it.
Any advice or thoughts would be super welcome and helpful, thank you!!

If you say they aren’t spider mites, its aphids. That happened with my hibiscus as well I used a neem oil spray and it got rid of them, don’t do it during the day or under lights as it can burn the leaves. I still say spider mites though by the looks of all that webbing. The black/dark things are aphids I do believe, granted im no expert! Good luck!

Looks like aphids on the bud and a infestation of spider mites with the webbing.

It doesn’t even matter. Burn it.

I think the better question is what isn’t it.

I get the impression that little spider can’t eat fast enough!

Could get a bucket, fill it with warm water, dish soap, rubbing alcohol, flip her upside down with some gloves, and a possible protection suit. And gently but firmly stir the water and brush off everything.

Do this like 3 different times, pull off any yucky parts, then gently shake off the dirt to the side. Brush the dirt off the roots, and replant, and pray.

There’s a few things on that plant. The problem is what isn’t on that plant and the answer is fire. It needs fire.
