I knew the situation was bad, but I didn't realise quite how bad. I didn't keep in top of it as I was focusing on the back garden and now it's so overwhelming, a lot of it is knee high. Any advice? Is it even possible for one person?
I know it'll take years to eradicate, or at least get to the point where it's manageable, but what can I do in the short term?

Edit: could also be 3 cornered leek. It certainly smells garlicy but the leaves are a bit thin for garlic
Looks like 3 cornered leak, only real way to get rid of it is dig it all up, wait till all the bulbs you missed emerge then dig again and repeat till it’s gone.
We’ve been on ours for 3 years and almost on top of it now (at least that’s what I keep telling myself).
Worst thing is when it’s mixed into a bed or the lawn and you have to be quite brutal getting it out causing a lot of damage.
Gardening is never easy!
Yeah it’s allium triquetrum aka three cornered leek, a nonnative invasive species. Thankfully it’s very tasty, use as you would a spring onion, make into pesto or pickle the bulbs. You will need to dig it up as it spreads a couple of different ways. The bulbs split and clone and the seeds are carried of by ants to their nests, they have a sweet coating.
Wild garlic is only late spring-summer I’m afraid, you could have made some money at an artisan market otherwise.
