Found along the side of a wooded path. It's so pretty, Is it something that I can root and plant or is our invasive? Zone 7B.

It is a beautiful native plant but is aggressive and would require managing. leave it be, only harvest seeds.

Also, handle with care because it can cause a rash/burn in sensitive people. Wear gloves and long sleeves.

Careful about calling things weeds around here…. the native plant “it’s not a weed” police will be along.

In 7B? Go ahead and plant some. It’s aggressive but not invasive. You’ll end up with a healthy vine, and gorgeous crimson color every autumn. Just don’t plant it near anything you don’t want it to cover.

Ive not seen it turn red like that! But agree it is invasive.
