Moved this plant (I’ve had it for approx 3 years) because my cat wouldn’t stop chewing on it and it flowered!!

It’s now getting light from the front and reflected from the mirror, so it’s thanking you! And making babies.

Looks like a nice bright spot and soon you’ll have another plant!

These plants are said to be quite euphoric for cats

  4. Spider plant: mildly hallucinogenic, but perfectly safe, for cats to nibble on. That said, I try to keep mine up high because my little four footed addicts will tear them apart given the chance.

  5. Yep. My cats will devour anything with long thin leaves.

My spider has been hanging out of their reach but didnt start putting out flowers and baby spiders until I’d had it 5 years.

IT BEGINS!!!! Lol in all seriousness be prepared because once they are happy enough to start flowering in my experience the keep putting out more and more flower stalks till your constantly sweeping up little white flowers (they only last a day) and if you dont cut the stalks, more spiderplant pups than you know whatbto do with.
Though you can just let the stay attached and hang free for a trailing look

Beautiful you know what really helps them is make sure you use purified water to water them and don’t water too much because then it starts root rot my spider plants. Don’t like a lot of water but they do like a lot of light. I have one out on my balcony and it loves it outside every time I put it in the house it starts to die. It’s crazy.

    That’s not a flower it’s a tribble, watch out

Similar thing happened to me! I have a pothos that was good as dead, just two of the saddest, palest leaves you’ve ever seen. My cat kept going after it, so I moved it up one tier on the same shelf… and now it’s exploding with new growth. Like 15-20 new leaves in the span of a couple months

So pretty! I love when they flower!

I was talking with a lady at Lowe’s the other day that was carrying a spider plant around. I said I’m going to get one too and she said she bought hers for her cat. 🤣🤣

It’s gorgeous! My cat chewed my all the way down so I moved it to a new spot and it’s very happy too!
