I’ve had this string of dolphins for 2 years and she’s gotten… longer? I feel like she’s not thriving. I live in the US PNW and we’ve just entered the seasonal depression months and she’s just looking more pathetic than usual. I also upgraded her pot size recently and repotted with succulent soil but I’m wondering if there’s something more I can do. Like, should I be propagating cuttings and planting them beside each other in the pot?

To get a really full plant, I’d take all the strings you have , curl them up on top of the soil (leave them attached to the roots) making sure the vines are touching the soil as much as possible so they become the new base of your plant – new strings will grow off of the vines. To make sure the vines are adequately touching soil to make new roots, I use a bobby pin bent open or cut paperclips into U shapes and loosely pin the vines down in 3-4 spots.
My string of pearls and string of turtles love light and I have them in West facing windows – if you don’t get much sun during the winter (I know the PNW is grey and dreary in winter), I’d invest in a grow light that clips to the pot to give it a boost. Succulent food once a month can help too.
Most people say to let them dry out between watering, but mine are flourishing with a couple of TBSP of water every 3ish days – my plants seem to love moisture 🤷♀️
