We recently bought our first house and we are excited to slowly build our garden up.
We would love an olive tree, we are thinking of keeping it in a pot. We found these two reduced at a local garden centre. Garden centres are new to us and we are not sure what may make a tree worthy of being half priced.
Here are photos of the two trees. The smaller one is considerably cheaper, but we would be happy to invest more in a bigger one. Do they look healthy? Why is the bigger one reduced? Are there any evident issues?
Thank you in advance!

Wait til Feb b&m have em for 90£ along with the lemon tree I bought the olive and repotted it. the lemon tree I waited till sept til they were on offer but got beaten to em.
I’d go for the first one as Olive trees are relatively slow growing in our climate and its just an all around better looking specimen.
It doesn’t really look too bad for being reduced tbh, in the uk some freshly imported trees might shed their leaves during winter because of the transplant/different climate shock, but they bounce back just fine in spring.
Generally they reduce items that haven’t sold at the end of the growing season just to get rid of their unsold stock regardless of how tatty the plants look.
None of them, they’re shit. Go to your nearest B&M’s with garden centres, they’re selling the £100 ones off for £50 right now
The one with a thick trunk looks good fo me! Depends how much they’re asking.
I’d jump at the £85 one if I could. Where’s the nursery located? !ol

If it helps we just bought this olive tree for £50 down from £100 in B&M as other comments have mentioned. Might be worth checking in your local B&M first
First one has a more interesting shape. But you’re the one that will be looking at it.
