My African violet took a pretty nasty fall during a move and lost most of her leaves, how should I get her back to health?

Needs a smaller pot. Increasing humidity can help too

A couple of things I do to start with. First, get rid of the potting soil it is in. It is all wrong for the plant. I use a germinating starting mix (Peat Moss, Perlite, Liming & Wwtting Agents added) that I then add a lot of perlite to. One scoop of mix, one scoop of perlite.

Second, a smaller, plastic pot. I’m guessing that is a 4 inch pot. Get a 2 inch pot for now.

Third, there is fertilizer salts built up in the soil near the AV, wash that soil off, removing as much of that soil as you can, gently, to get rid the those salts.

Repot into the smaller pot with the mix mentioned above. Water by setting the new pot and plant in a saucer of water and let it suck up as much water as it wants for an hour. Then remove it from the sauce and let it drain for 15 minutes. Finally, but it in a zip lock bag (gallon size works well) that you’ve inflated by blowing air into it. Seal it shut and place in good light.

That’s what I’d do. Best of Luck.

Get some potting mix for containers and perlite and mix half and half. Use a pudding cup or similar sized pot and repot it. Plastic not clay or ceramic.
