I’m purposefully pruning a trailer I have to look like a little bonsai tree. It’s silly, I kind of like the look. Rather than decapitate I would pinch the crown to see if you can get it fuller!
I actually love that and have now added it to my wish list…
Do you know how to fix it? Soon it may snap off and then have to be rerooted. You can choose to do that yourself to prevent it falling on the floor and being damaged
