In my first batch, I had a lot of sprouts falling over. They couldn't get their roots down into the sand I used as a top layer. This time I used a layer of fine maifan stone on top of the substrate, sowed the seeds on top then washed them into the gaps with a spray of water. This is working much better. There's always something to learn.
