I planted the smaller acer 3 years ago – primarily for leaf/stem colour. The Acer Crimson King was planted last year for height.

Due to some concrete and other obstacles this was the only place I could plant the taller one. Have I made a mistake by planting too close to each other?

If so, should I risk moving the smaller one – it’s still young I guess?

    No I don’t think so… I love an acre can’t have to many. I have terrible luck with them though. They do not do well in my garden unfortunately.

    Bear in mind Crimson King is a Norway Maple – it’ll reach 20+ metres eventually
